A truly authentic native American knee-high moccasin pattern. Detailed and illustrated instructions are included, and show correct tribunal decoration. A great leather craft project for both him and her.

Sizes: Men's 7-12, Women's 5-10 (You cut out the size you need).

Referred to as "boots" by outsiders, this Plains and Plateau Indian style of high topped moccasins were worn by women as early as the 1800s. The style became a signature look from the mid-1800s among the Comanche, Kiowa, Southern Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Apache. The main photo features a late reservation-period example by a Southern Arapaho woman. Apache men, too, wore a slightly altered knee-high moccasin.

Construction and decoration of these moccasins may differ from tribe to tribe.
